MBI (Wales) Limited is an R&D led company specializing in the formulation of custom silicone
elastomers.

We have considerable experience in manufacturing novel, application based materials primarily
for the medical industry, specifically for the creation of maxillofacial prostheses.

The company is the natural partnership of over fifteen years of collaboration between its
Directors, Professor Mark Waters, professor of bio materials at Cardiff University Dental School,
and Leo Basil of Principality Medical Limited.  

Principality Medical has been manufacturing prosthetic silicones for over twenty five years,
the result of research undertaken at Cardiff University in the early 1980s to improve patient
care prosthetics.  Since the early 1990s the Directors have worked together to carry this
research forward in light of industry advances and increased requirements from patients for
improved realism and performance.

MBI (Wales) Limited was registered as a Company in 2005 in order to provide a dedicated
manufacturing outlet for these new materials.
